Handoff views that survive a busy night

Colleagues collaborating around a table

Night desks inherit unfinished work. If the handoff view opens on a raw alert feed, the incoming analyst spends the first twenty minutes reconstructing context that the outgoing analyst already knew.

Prioritise open high-severity tickets, hosts on the watchlist, and anything waiting on an external party. Everything else can live one click deeper.

Colour alone is not enough under fluorescent lighting and fatigue. Pair colour with short text labels and a consistent order so the pattern becomes muscle memory.

Test the pack during a real shift change, not in a quiet workshop. If the outgoing analyst needs more than three minutes to explain the screen, cut fields until the conversation fits that window.
